Public Schools First

Public education is one of Texas' greatest investments. I believe every dollar intended for public schools should stay there, funding teachers, classrooms, special education, transportation, libraries, fine arts, and career and technical education, with rural districts getting the equitable support they've too often been denied.

  • Public education dollars should remain focused on strengthening public schools. Taxpayer dollars intended for public education should invest in teachers, classrooms, special education, transportation, libraries, fine arts, career and technical education, and the programs that directly serve students.

  • Teachers deserve to be treated as professionals. I will advocate for policies that trust educators, reduce unnecessary political interference, and help recruit and retain outstanding teachers across Texas.

  • Many rural communities depend on their neighborhood public school as the heart of community life. Rural districts face unique financial and staffing challenges, and they deserve equitable support so every student has access to a quality education regardless of their ZIP code.

  • College is not the only path to success. Texas students should graduate prepared for college, military service, apprenticeships, technical training, agriculture, or the workforce. Strong career and technical education programs help students discover meaningful careers while meeting our state's workforce needs.
